about
My name is Nicole Lambon and I live in Cape Town, South Africa. I am a web designer and front-end web developer with eight years of professional experience in the design industry.Istarted my career back in 2002 as the designer and developer for a hobby shop. The website comprised of a front-end that pulled product information from an Access database with ASP 3.0, which visitors could search through to find products, via a search box and dropdown.
After completing college in December 2002 I went into freelancing full time both by myself and for ABC Web Team (no longer in existence). This was an exciting time as I was able to grow my skills and myself as a person into what I am today.
At the beginning of 2004 I had a short term contract with McPherson Garden Centre to design and develop there website on there premises.
May 2005 saw my career take yet another turn with my appointment as a ASP 3.0 developer at The Formula Group. I learnt alot from the experience in terms of ASP coding and how to follow and create standards that will last for years to come.
In August of 2006, I started working at WebNow, where I still am today. They are a small Design and Development agency based in Plattekloof, Cape Town, South Africa, as the lead Graphic / Web Designer.
My love for computers and design was created when I was very young, with my dad teaching me how to use his IBM AT computer, the luggable kind. It was supposed to be a portable computer back in those days, weighing in at 13.6kg (very portable).
I am a qualified web and graphics designer as well as front-end and ASP 3.0 web developer.
I have a passion for design in all mediums, from print to web., as well as doing the front-end development. I enjoy seeing the websites that I have designed come to life in the browser, with dynamic movement to just plain and simple styling that creates eye catching effects.
To me there is no greater thrill than seeing your final design and development finally go live on the internet for the whole world to see.
